About 6 years ago, I introduced my father to denominationalism
from Buddhism, for I was a denominational believer. One year later,
I learned the Pure New Testament Christianity, and obeyed the
One Gospel of Christ (Eph. 4:4-6). My purpose of writing of the
A Guide to Biblical Truth, therefore, is to help my father to
know the Truth of the Gospel. My prayer to God is that my father
may be saved through knowing and obeying the Gospel of Christ.
The 30 lessons contained in this volume are to encourage and to
guide people to follow the One System of Faith revealed by God
in the New Testament Scriptures. The Gospel of Christ is the ONLY
medium for the salvation of man (Rom. 1:16-17). We must discard
all man-originated speculations, ideas, doctrines and traditions
that are contradictory against the teaching of Christ. Denominationalism
and sectarianism existing today are the results of substituting
man-made teaching in place of the pure teaching of God (Mark 7:6-9,
13). Students must have an attitude of searching the Bible daily,
in order to prove whether those things are so (Acts 17:10). Please
use the King James Version for the English Bible lessons, and
the Chinese Union Version (和合本) for the Chinese Bible Lessons.
I affectionately dedicate this volume to brother Joseph D. Meador
and his family. Brother Meador served as the instrument for my
conversion to the Savior. He also nurtured me with the Truth of
N.T. Christianity in the spirit of love, encouragement and patience.
If it were not for his selfless devotion for the work of evangelism,
I am afraid that I would have remained "having no hope and
without God in the world" (Eph. 2:12).
I would like to thank my wife Carrie Cheung for her many helpful
suggestions to the Chinese lessons, and brother Gary Colley Sr.
for his helpful advice and proof reading on the English lessons,
and all my past and present financial supporters for their sacrificial
supports, and the elders and the saints of the Eastern Hills church
of Christ in Marshall, Texas, (my major financial sponsor) for
their faithful support, and the elders and members of the Southwest
church of Christ in Austin, Texas, for their spiritual encouragement
and support, and the faculty members at the School of Bible Studies
(1994-1995) that taught me the Bible for two years, and the Weldon
Stewart family who graciously provided me a home while I attended
SWSBS. Without their contributions, I would not have been able
to initiate nor to accomplish this work. In conclusion, may these
30 lessons of A Guide to Biblical Truth bring many lost souls
to the Master, and bring glory to Him Who saves us by His blood
(Eph. 1:7)!
